Overview

The International Quality Infrastructure Expert will provide technical advice and coordinate activities related to quality infrastructure for a regional programme aimed at increasing trade competitiveness and market access in West Africa.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical inputs and advise on quality infrastructure governance, policies, and standards.
  • Support capacity-building activities for Quality Infrastructure institutions and committees.
  • Facilitate the digitalization of regional quality infrastructure institutions.
  • Coordinate and ensure high-quality delivery by technical experts and partners.
  • Lead the drafting of terms of reference and technical specifications for Quality Infrastructure services.
  • Plan, monitor, supervise, and report on the implementation of programme interventions.
  • Liaise with UNIDO divisions and project managers to ensure smooth communication.
  • Supervise, coordinate, and evaluate the work of consultants and service providers.
  • Contribute to financial planning and monitoring for activities.
  • Support the preparation of periodic progress reports and case studies.
  • Coordinate and engage on Quality Infrastructure issues with key stakeholders.
Required Experience
  • A minimum of 7 years of practical experience in the field of quality infrastructure, including experience in supporting and promoting quality.
  • Knowledge of quality-related issues at the ECOWAS level as well as the various actors in the regional and national quality infrastructure systems in the Region is desirable.
  • Experience in developing and implementing Quality Management Systems is desirable.
  • Experience with EU-funded programmes is desirable.
  • Experience in implementing regional programmes is desirable.
  • Good ability to work under pressure and take initiatives is required.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
Qualifications

Advanced university degree in engineering, or any other related field, with a strong understanding of quality infrastructure in general is required.

Fluency in written and oral English and French is required.
Languages Preferred
Fluency or working knowledge of Portuguese is desirable.

1 year (with the possibility of extension)
