Overview

The electrician reports to the construction manager and is responsible for installing, testing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in hospital and residential facilities, including solar systems.


Key Responsibilities
  • Routinely inspecting electrical systems, troubleshooting issues, and addressing faults.
  • Troubleshooting electrical system failures to ensure sustainable power.
  • Fixing/replacing electrical cabling and wiring adhering to standards.
  • Confirming electrical goods received match specifications.
  • Providing suggestions for electrical equipment and materials.
  • Installing new electrical appliances.
  • Interpreting drawings and bill of quantities for electrical works.
  • Receiving and completing work orders.
  • Selecting materials and making time and materials estimates.
  • Reporting on work progress and outcomes.
  • Inspecting buildings and facilities for issues.
  • Developing and implementing preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Planning and scheduling repairs.
  • Conducting quality checks on equipment and systems.
  • Performing general maintenance tasks.
  • Maintaining inventory records.
  • Following health and safety standards and building codes.
  • Operating tools and equipment safely.
  • Following safety procedures for job duties.
  • Correcting unsafe conditions and reporting them.
Required Experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in operation of solar systems and generators.
  • Previous experience working in a similar position.
  • Experience in solar system maintenance.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and operation of generators.
Qualifications
  • At least a Diploma in electrical engineering from a recognized technical institution.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
