Overview

The NYSA Operations Intern will assist the Youth Operations Team in organizing student data, records, and paperwork for the NYSA Summer Program. The intern will also create weekly Family Newsletters and support the preparation of community events and field trips.


Key Responsibilities
  • Outreach to families to collect required paperwork and information
  • Track and organize paperwork to support data management
  • Assist in updating and maintaining accurate records in our data systems
  • Input student attendance and project enrollment into the excel tracker
  • Create weekly family newsletters, and translate in multiple languages using interpretation services
  • Inventory and organize supplies
  • Assist in preparation and set up for weekly community events and field trips
  • Assist in distribution of DOE meals, in compliance with NYC DOE regulations
Required Experience

Experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations preferred

Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled in post-secondary institution or have graduated from a post-secondary institution within last 2 years
  • Undergraduate level student/graduate in Business, Social Work, Education or similar field preferred

Languages Required
Fluency in written and spoken English required.
Languages Preferred
Second language proficiency in relevant language highly desirable (including Spanish, Ukrainian, Russian, Haitian Creole, French, Pashto, Fulani, Dari, Farsi, Arabic, Mandarin)
