Overview
To improve UNICEF’s effectiveness in assessing talent for leadership roles, experienced individual consultants are sought to conduct thorough reference checks on candidates for leadership positions.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule and conduct comprehensive reference checks for assigned cases, typically involving around 7 references per case.
- Prepare a confidential, comprehensive report detailing feedback on each reference check case, including an overall summary of findings and detailed content from referees.
- Submit the report to the People and Culture Manager/Chief, Senior Leadership Support Team within 5 calendar days after assignment.
- Use own equipment (laptops, microphones, software, accessories) for the task.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all information and materials.
Required Experience
- At least five years of progressive experience in human resources management, specifically in recruitment and performance management.
- Experience in other similar areas such as programme management, administration, or executive management, with focus on confidentiality, may also be considered.
- Familiarity with UN entities and UNICEF is a distinct advantage.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Human Resources Management (HRM), Psychology, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a relevant social sciences field.
- A first university degree and two additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of an advanced degree.
- Recognized professional certification in HRM is highly desirable.
