Overview
The English Language Training Intern will assist the Adult Education Specialist in planning and providing English language training classes to refugees and immigrants. The role aims to develop skills and confidence in speaking, reading, and writing in English for new arrivals.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with enrollment, coordination, and implementation of classes.
- Contact students to confirm availability.
- Navigate client barriers to education.
- Differentiate and scaffold instruction.
- Communicate with local stakeholders.
- Support teachers in preparing student materials.
- Coordinate with volunteers, including childcare volunteers.
- Cover the childcare volunteer role as needed.
- Collect data to support educational initiatives.
Qualifications
Undergraduate or graduate level studies in education, social work, international relations, social sciences, or related field preferred.
