Overview
Interns will support the Dynamic Knowledge and Library Team in providing information and knowledge services related to human rights. This role contributes to the development of the Human Rights Knowledge Gateway, OHCHR intranet, and knowledge hub.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development of the Human Rights Knowledge Gateway and thematic knowledge sites.
- Contribute to research work related to knowledge sites.
- Develop content and resources for the OHCHR intranet and knowledge hub.
- Support the organization and facilitation of knowledge sharing events.
- Assist in data science efforts, including automating tasks like subject classification and tagging.
- Extract and process structured information from documents and sites.
- Assist in the daily management of the library, including cataloguing, client interaction, and collection management.
- Assist in the production of knowledge sharing materials (Videos, tutorials, Website editing, Library guides, Communication campaigns).
- Assist in the development and update of Intranet and Knowledge Hub content.
- Assist library duties such as research and reference queries, cataloguing and indexing, digitization and data management, collection development, and outreach activities.
- Assist in other duties as requested by the supervisor (data management, document processing, organization of events).
Qualifications
- Enrolled in a graduate school programme (Master's degree or equivalent) or in the final academic year of a first-level university degree programme (Bachelor's degree or equivalent).
- Study fields include library science, information science, knowledge management, human rights, law, or international relations.
