Overview
The Translation and Communications Intern will support the Communications, Innovation and Partnerships team of UNDP China by translating various materials and assisting with communications and outreach activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Translates communications materials including Op-eds, press releases, speeches, and media/social media related articles.
- Translates project-related documents such as ProDocs, annual work plans, concept notes, and event programmes.
- Translates reports and other internal and external publications.
- Provides interpreting/translation services for high-level visits and events.
- Monitors media exposure, drafts media summaries, and conducts basic analysis.
- Drafts content and designs layouts for social media articles and posts.
- Assists in preparing communications and public-private partnerships outreach materials.
- Assists in research, compiling background materials, statistical data, and briefing notes.
- Assists in on-site event support.
Qualifications
- Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme (such as a master’s programme, or higher).
- Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (such as bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
- Have recently graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation.
- Be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program and undertake the internship as part of this program.
- Major in English (translation), international relations, communications, journalism, or other relevant fields.
