Overview
The (Associate) Investment Officer will support IFC’s activities in the Services sectors in South Asia, focusing on business development, investment transaction execution, portfolio supervision, and client relationship management.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a strong pipeline of investment opportunities through proactive origination and business development.
- Lead transactions to evaluate, structure, negotiate, and close new transactions and portfolio restructurings.
- Develop innovative financial structures for debt, equity, and mezzanine investments.
- Communicate credit analysis and investment proposals verbally and in writing.
- Lead term sheet negotiation and legal documentation processes.
- Provide high-quality client service throughout the project cycle.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with regional clients, partners, and government officials.
- Mentor and develop junior staff.
- Assist in the formulation and monitoring of IFC’s strategy in the Services sectors in South Asia.
Required Experience
- At least 5-10 years of relevant work experience in a private equity firm, commercial bank, investment bank, or international financial institution with significant emerging markets presence.
- Experience in a lead role in investment transactions (corporate and project finance).
- Proven success and track record in developing client relationships.
- Ability to focus on client needs effectively.
- Experience originating and structuring transactions in services sectors (tourism, retail, commercial and residential property, health and education).
- Knowledge of and experience in investing in emerging markets.
- A strong network in South Asia is a plus.
Qualifications
MBA, master’s degree in finance or equivalent.
