Overview
To support the construction of Multi-Purpose Evacuation Centers by monitoring construction progress, identifying challenges, and implementing solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor construction progress and provide updates.
- Attend coordination meetings.
- Maintain communication with contractor's site team.
- Monitor contractor compliance with drawings, specifications, and safety requirements.
- Identify and report construction challenges or technical issues.
- Support the project team in identifying and implementing solutions.
- Coordinate with government officials and community representatives.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
- Observe contractor progress and report delays, technical issues, or deviations.
- Assist in verifying construction works at critical stages.
- Monitor construction activities for compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, and contract requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections of foundation works, structural works, and building components.
- Monitor and verify field testing activities.
- Ensure construction works meet project quality standards.
- Monitor contractor compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) requirements.
- Ensure safe work practices are maintained on site.
- Maintain regular communication with contractor site staff.
- Support coordination of site inspections and construction activities.
- Maintain site records including inspection notes, photographs, and daily observations.
- Prepare and submit weekly construction monitoring reports.
- Support documentation required for project monitoring and reporting.
Required Experience
- One year of relevant work experience.
- Experience in construction supervision or infrastructure projects is an advantage.
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and site construction practices.
- Knowledge of construction safety regulations and site safety practices.
- Experience working in Vanuatu and knowledge of local construction context.
Qualifications
• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
