Overview
Seeking motivated professional Firefighters for entry and senior roles to join a multinational Fire Brigade providing 24/7 protection for NATO Air Base Geilenkirchen. Responsibilities include firefighting, crash and rescue operations, and maintaining readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Performing firefighting, crash and rescue duties;
- Inspecting, testing and maintaining assigned vehicles and equipment;
- Performing minor repairs on fire, crash and rescue vehicles and equipment;
- Staying abreast of technological developments and maintaining professional proficiency;
- Performing general housekeeping, clean up, snow and ice removal;
- Assisting in additional tasks as directed;
- Supervising fire shift crews (senior role);
- Acting as on-scene commander (senior role);
- Ensuring operational readiness of personnel, equipment, and resources (senior role);
- Leading and coordinating operations at incidents (senior role);
- Conducting training for firefighting personnel (senior role);
- Supporting fire prevention activities (senior role);
- Managing and administering assigned subsections (senior role).
Required Experience
- Basic knowledge of firefighting principles and tactics as an active, professional Firefighter;
- Current professional experience as a Fire Crew Chief in an operational environment, preferably related to an airfield (senior role);
- Experience in supervising, training and exercising firefighting personnel (senior role).
Qualifications
- Secondary education and basic training for specific task related skills;
- Completed Basic Fire Fighter Training, Course or Certification (Equivalent to German B1 Level: Brandmeister);
- Physical Fitness Training (Equivalent DEU: Rettungsschwimmerabzeichen and Deutsches Sportabzeichen in Silber);
- Completed additional training, course or certification for the Principal Firefighter role (Equivalent to German B3+B4 Levels i.e. to Squad Leader and Fire Officer) (senior role);
- Emergency Medical Technician (Equivalent DEU: Rettungssanitäter or higher) (senior role);
- Knowledge of Fire Prevention regulations (senior role).
