Overview
Internship opportunity within the NATO International Military Staff (IMS) Cooperative Security (CS) Division, focusing on partnership policies and military cooperation with partner nations and international organizations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in monitoring progress in development of documents related to NATO cooperation with partners.
- Draft meeting minutes, reports, decision sheets, and memorandums.
- Assist in the coordination of Working Groups (WGs) and facilitate the conduct of MCWGs.
- Assist in the framing of NATO’s overall defence policies as they relate to partnerships and cooperative security.
- Assist in the preparation of papers, checklists, and speeches for senior NATO military officers.
- Assist in the coordination and development of thematic engagements and projects between NATO and partners.
- Support work strands related to the Southern Neighbourhood and preparation of military advice for meetings.
- Assist in developing and assessing programs and documentation related to MC Direction and Guidance (MC D&G).
- Deepen the Division’s analytical capacity on the Middle East and North Africa Region.
- Assist the process of identifying, tasking, and validating regional situational awareness.
Required Experience
• Previous experience with other international organizations, national administration, research or industry (desirable).
Qualifications
- At least two years of university level studies OR equivalent education OR be currently a student OR a recent graduate (degree obtained no longer than 12 months ago).
- A Bachelor's degree or in the final stage of a Master’s degree relevant to the requested area of expertise (desirable).
