Overview
The National Project Officer (District Health Information System (DHIS)) will be responsible for planning and organizing the customization of the DHIS2 software, including database functions and architecture, and providing technical assistance to stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure DHIS2 metadata, including data elements, indicators, datasets, programs, and analytics objects.
- Deploy and administer DHIS2 instances across multiple countries.
- Develop, maintain and deliver DHIS2 technical training materials.
- Provide ongoing DHIS2 system administration and technical support.
- Review and understand MHD’s workflows to ensure DHIS2 system meets user needs.
- Implement data quality assurance processes.
- Produce geospatial outputs using DHIS2 GIS and external mapping tools.
- Support designing and development of digital tools and software solutions.
- Develop and maintain data extraction, transformation, and visualization tools.
- Maintain active participation in the DHIS2 global Community of Practice.
Required Experience
- Experience in health information and DHIS2 deployment and tracker configuration
- Experience in designing, implementing, maintaining data systems and DHIS2 instance servers
- Experience in configuring DHIS2 systems and implementing aggregate datasets, event programs and tracker programs.
- Familiarity with health data standards and reporting requirements is highly desirable
- Experience in working with national/international public health organizations is an asset
- Experience in training end-users and providing technical support
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer science, Computer/Software Engineering, Information Systems Technology or related fields from an accredited academic institution; or, Bachelor’s degree in the above fields with two (2) years of relevant working experience.
- Certification and/or formal training in DHIS2, health information systems and data security is an advantage
