Overview
The Programme Coordinator (Shelter/NFI Cluster) is responsible for coordinating the Shelter/NFI Cluster, ensuring cross-sectoral coordination with other clusters, and providing technical guidance for Shelter/NFI Cluster activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, review and update a Shelter/NFI Cluster Strategy.
- Identify and build cooperative relationships and partnerships with key organizations, national authorities, academic institutions, International Financial Institutions, and OCHA.
- Support the conduction of assessments and evaluations.
- Lead the organization of coordination meetings and chair Shelter/NFI Cluster coordination meetings.
- Provide strategic guidance for common funding criteria, resource mobilisation and prioritization.
- Promote and facilitate the integration of cross-cutting issues.
- Secure commitments from cluster partners.
- Provide leadership and oversight of the Shelter/NFI Cluster.
- Ensure partners are aware of relevant policy guidelines and technical standards.
- Ensure common monitoring mechanisms are in place.
- Contribute to advocacy and resource mobilization efforts.
- Identify needs for stockpiling of NFIs and coordinate pre-positioning.
- Oversee all phases of the Common Pipeline implementation.
- Performs such other duties as may be assigned.
Required Experience
- Five years of relevant professional experience;
- At least five years of field experience in different international organizations (e.g., UN agencies, INGOs, IOs, Donors, IFRC or ICRC);
- Excellent writing and synthesis skills, and experience in report writing, including the development of recommendations for various purposes;
- Experience in performing as Cluster Coordinator in other setting.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Supply Chain Management, or a related field from an accredited academic institution; or,
- University degree in the above fields.
