Overview

The Project Associate will facilitate the effective implementation of projects aimed at enhancing climate resilience and promoting sustainable development in the Pacific region. The role contributes to climate action and resilience-building in a vulnerable region.


Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure timely and accurate development, updating, and monitoring of project activity work plans, budgets, expenditure reports, and progress reports.
  • Maintain proactive and effective coordination with partners, consultants, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Support the organization and coordination of project meetings, workshops, consultations, and missions.
  • Contribute to the preparation and development of knowledge products.
  • Support the management and administrative follow-up of project service contracts.
  • Support the integration of gender, inclusion, and community engagement considerations across project activities.
  • Perform any other duties within the functional profile as may be assigned.
Required Experience
  • 1 month required experience.
  • 2 years relevant experience.
  • Experience using UNDP or donor project management systems (ATLAS/Quantum, UNALL, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in procurement or contract administration, including tracking deliverables and payments.
  • Experience supporting climate adaptation, DRR, resilience, or environmental projects.
  • Strong Excel and data management ability (workplans, budgets, monitoring frameworks).
  • Experience supporting reporting to donors (GEF, GCF, ADB, EU, MFAT, DFAT) would be desirable.
  • Writing experience on public policy, international multi-lateral organizations, and/or climate change mitigation and adaptation is an asset.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Political Science, Development Studies, Economics, International Public Policy, or similar.
