Overview
Responsible for the design, development, implementation, and operation of enterprise cloud network infrastructure, combining network engineering and programming skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with AWS/Azure platforms, leverage native automation tools, and develop custom scripts.
- Work with Terraform, Ansible, TFS and Python to develop cloud network pipeline.
- Use modern scripting languages and automation engines to automate network tasks.
- Use APIs to integrate automation tasks with other enterprise systems.
- Enhance proactive monitoring capability by creating automated reports/alerts for network events.
- Maintain WBG’s Cloud Network infrastructure in AWS, Azure, Oracle OCI and emerging cloud platforms.
- Monitor performance and diagnose problems in network infrastructure.
- Update documentation and produce reports.
- Handle escalation calls from the NOC, perform triage, resolve problems, or escalate.
- Travel as needed to other WBG offices.
- Flexibility to work in shifts including night shift if required.
- Provide on call support on rotational basis.
Required Experience
- Master’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Network engineering experience is required.
- Hands-on experience with AWS and Azure network concepts and paradigms.
- Hands-on experience with firewalls (e.g. Palo Alto), virtual and physical including security policy management and troubleshooting of issues.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco routers and switches for IOS, IOSXE and NXOS.
- Hands-on experience with AWS Route53 and AWS APIs.
- Hands-on experience with DDI infrastructure (e.g. Infoblox).
- Hands-on experience with BIND DNS resolver.
- Hands-on experience with Spanning Tree, OSPF and BGP routing protocols.
- Working experience in large enterprises using MPLS and VPN. This includes testing and provisioning of links.
