Overview

Experienced leader sought for the global Grants Management Function, responsible for setting direction, policies, tools, and guidance to ensure a cohesive approach to Project Cycle Management (PCM) and Grants Management.


Key Responsibilities
  • Line management responsibilities for directly reporting staff, including performance management, workforce planning, recruitment, and duty of care.
  • Responsible for PCM and Grants Management support, developing relevant training and coaching.
  • Lead and further develop the PCM and Grants Management Function, standardising approaches, tools, and guidance.
  • Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of Cycles, NRCs digital grants management system.
  • Liaise with Head of Finance to optimize support of finance and grants.
  • Build collaborative working relationships with other Global Support structures.
  • Accountable for providing and updating training and capacity building on grants management, proposal and report writing, donor rules, and PCM.
  • Responsible for ensuring standardised approaches to PCM and Grants Management are followed and developing compliance practices.
  • Establish and maintain a proactive community of practice for PCM and Grants Management.
  • Support the development and roll out of Cycles.
  • Establish cost allocation methods for pooled staff and ensure fundraising for staff capacity.
  • Ensure the PCM Framework is updated and maintained, and create a Grants Management handbook.
  • Lead the Internally Competing Proposals process.
  • Decision maker in the usage of the Proposal Development Roster mechanism.
  • Undertake quality assurance tasks for specific project proposals or reports.
  • Undertake delegated donor representation, including liaising with consortia partners, supporting new business negotiations, and funder reporting.
Required Experience
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, including leadership or management experience within the humanitarian/development field.
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
  • Proven experience of leading change processes in complex organisations.
  • Understanding leadership, management, influencing and development within a matrix structure.
  • Professional credibility to influence stakeholders and drive change internally.
  • Familiar with programme and other quality standards, donor requirements and trends in the humanitarian sector.
  • Good interpersonal skills, and ability to build collaborative working relationships.
  • Comfortable with leading development projects, working with a broad range of colleagues and developing user friendly tools, frameworks and guidance.
  • Experience in leading teams.
  • Experience with leading teams remotely is a clear advantage.
  • Understanding of NRCs ways of working.
  • Passion for developing a new function, lead and setting direction and structure is a strength.
Qualifications

• Relevant higher education, preferably at master’s degree level.

• Fluency in English both written and verbal.
Languages Preferred
• Knowledge of German, Spanish, French or Arabic is an asset.
