Overview

Provide comprehensive project support to SDG localization initiatives and contribute to the technical development of methodologies and frameworks. Facilitate knowledge exchange, strengthen partnerships, and ensure the successful completion of specific projects.


Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate activities of the Knowledge & Scientific Network (KSN).
  • Assist in organizing virtual and in-person events, webinars, and presentations.
  • Provide administrative and communication support for research findings dissemination.
  • Manage logistics for regional workshops.
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of the Sport for Sustainable Urban Development Initiative.
  • Provide logistical and documentation support for engagements.
  • Assist in the finalization of the VLR development process in Banjul.
  • Coordinate travel logistics for the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) Annual Meeting.
  • Prepare documentation and logistical arrangements for missions.
  • Draft summaries, briefs, and key messages from research outputs.
  • Align academic research findings with UN-Habitat SDG localization frameworks.
  • Develop technical presentations, infographics, and synthesis papers.
  • Draft and review technical materials for the sport-urban integration resource package.
  • Adapt and monitor the global Sport for Sustainable Urban Development initiative's logical framework and work plan.
  • Develop and coordinate the finalization of the introductory chapters for the VLR of Banjul.
  • Support research on Multilevel Governance (MLG) and National SDG Localization Framework Methodology.
  • Prepare a comprehensive progress report on the Women Led Cities Project.
  • Develop and deliver presentation materials for project implementation phases.
Required Experience

A minimum of two (2) years of relevant working experience on issues related to international development, urban governance, project management and coordination, and research and evaluation is required. Working experience in locally driven SDG implementation with UN-Habitat or in initiatives aligned with the United Nations system and global development agendas will be highly valued.

Qualifications

An advanced university degree (master’s or equivalent) in International Relations, Political Science, Development Studies, Urban and Regional Planning, or a related discipline relevant to the work of the United Nations, including Social Sciences is required. A first-level university degree, combined with two (2) additional years of qualifying experience, may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
