Overview
The Technical Officer, Social Protection, P2 will support statistical research, data collection, and data analysis activities within the Universal Social Protection Department, focusing on gender-disaggregated data and informality. The role aims to promote enhanced coverage and effectiveness of social protection systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for the development of internationally comparable social protection statistics and indicators.
- Contribute to the technical improvement, adaptation, and application of the ILO Social Security Inquiry (SSI).
- Compile data and support SDG monitoring through collaboration with development cooperation programmes.
- Assist in strengthening national social protection statistical systems, including capacity-building activities.
- Coordinate meetings and training sessions, and provide technical assistance for national social protection bulletins.
- Support data analysis for specific regions and projects, with a focus on migrant and refugee communities.
- Contribute to the collection, analysis, and visualization of social health protection data.
- Provide technical input and quality control for policy briefs, working papers, reports, and publications.
- Prepare evidence-based technical content for knowledge-sharing tools and platforms.
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
Required Experience
At least three years of relevant experience in social protection statistics, database management and extension of social protection to informal sector, including at international level.
Qualifications
First level university degree in economics, development studies, public policy, social sciences, international studies, statistics or a relevant field.
