Overview
Responsible for supervising and coordinating movement operations for migrants and refugees, ensuring travel arrangements are efficient, safe, and aligned with organizational guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee staff coordinating, scheduling, and booking travel.
- Support staff development processes including hiring, training, and performance feedback.
- Ensure timely booking of travel in accordance with Handbook of IOM Tariffs (HIT) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure compliance with program-specific SOPs for different migrant types and travel modes.
- Supervise the distribution of travel information to stakeholders.
- Oversee compilation and analysis of descriptive statistics and preparation of travel loan paperwork.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of paperwork.
- Oversee creation of movement data files.
- Oversee identification and assignment of escorts for vulnerable individuals.
- Oversee identity and document verification prior to travel documentation distribution.
- Oversee pre-departure counselling on pre-embarkation procedures and special needs.
- Identify beneficiary vulnerabilities and coordinate appropriate action.
- Liaise with other teams, units, and external partners.
- Provide regular feedback to supervisor and report issues.
- Undertake duty travel as required.
- Demonstrate understanding of applicable SOPs, systems, databases, and IOM Standards of Conduct.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity of paperwork.
- Uphold RMM Protection Mainstreaming Minimum Standards.
- Alert supervisor of any non-compliance.
Required Experience
High school diploma with 6 years of work experience, or Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of relevant work experience.
Qualifications
High school diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, International Relations, Regional Studies or a related field from an accredited academic institution.
