Overview
The incumbent will be responsible and accountable for performing a wide range of supply chain and procurement functions in line with IOM policies, standards and commitments as part of the Gaza response team in Egypt.
Key Responsibilities
- Support with planning, coordinating, implementing, and monitoring various procurement and logistic processes.
- Conduct landscape survey of the local market for goods or services.
- Assist in coordinating procurement processes including tender documents or RFQs.
- Review procurement documents for adequacy, recording, and accuracy.
- Maintain supporting documentation and requisite authorizations.
- Coordinate and conduct regular field visits to engage with partners and monitor shipments.
- Liaise with partners and stakeholders on incoming shipments.
- Liaise with partners and service providers to obtain updates and compile payment documents.
- Liaise with Finance and other departments to support invoice issuance and payment receipt.
- Verify field procurements are properly documented.
- Coordinate movement and storage of goods and services.
- Plan and prepare procurement actions and analyze requests.
- Follow-up on purchase order status and inform requestors of delivery times.
- Monitor inventory control and goods tracking systems.
- Ensure timely preparation and submission of reports and maintain the master database.
Required Experience
- Four years of relevant professional experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Business Administration, Project Management or a related field.
- Six years of relevant professional experience with a Completed High School degree.
- Experience in procurement and logistics to timely source goods and services.
- Proficiency in MS office applications such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
- Effectively works with vendors and service providers to secure cost-effective quality solutions.
- Experience in international operations in a post conflict environment is desirable.
- Proficiency in overseeing tender processes, bid evaluations, and contract management.
- Experience in analyzing market trends and supplier capabilities.
- Strong attention to detail in reviewing procurement documents.
- Experience in verifying goods or services received and conducting quality control checks.
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience working with an international organization or NGO in the procurement section.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Business Administration, Project Management or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Completed High School degree from accredited academic institution.
