Overview
The UNV Expert in information management, monitoring, and reporting for WASH will support UNICEF Colombia in the implementation of humanitarian actions by managing information, monitoring activities and results, and preparing reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, adjust, and implement a standardized information management structure for WASH humanitarian actions.
- Produce analytical inputs for decision-making, such as needs assessments and executive summaries.
- Support the preparation, execution, and documentation of needs analyses.
- Build and agree on a monitoring framework with indicators, tracking matrices, and data collection instruments.
- Conduct field monitoring to verify activity implementation and service quality.
- Prepare periodic reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, or semi-annually) with quantitative, qualitative, and mixed data.
- Develop products for corporate platforms and humanitarian documents.
- Apply mechanisms for consistency, verification, traceability, and reconciliation of data.
- Propose guidelines for quality assurance in humanitarian settings.
- Coordinate with implementing partners, UNICEF staff, and humanitarian actors.
- Participate in inter-agency spaces.
- Assist UNICEF's PM&E area in strengthening its integrated programmatic and results monitoring system.
Required Experience
- 7 years of proven experience in humanitarian monitoring and reporting, information management, or sectoral analysis, with a focus on results and human rights, especially in child, water, sanitation, and hygiene issues.
- Experience in designing and implementing situation analyses and needs assessments.
- Experience in planning and evaluating plans, programs, projects, and policies related to guaranteeing the rights of children and adolescents.
- Proven experience in formulation, follow-up, and accountability of policies, plans, and projects with a human rights, gender, and child focus.
- Proven experience in field work in humanitarian contexts and in producing technical documents on child rights violations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Basic Minimum Standards for Children (CCCs), Child Protection Area of Responsibility (CP AoR), Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP), Protection against Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), as well as gender equality, protection, and child development approaches.
- Desirable experience in managing and analyzing quantitative data, generating and applying statistical and econometric models associated with social development and humanitarian action.
- Desirable familiarity with risk analysis associated with natural and anthropogenic disasters, as well as climate change adaptation.
- Experience in emergency contexts and background in UN System agencies, funds, or programs, or other international and national development or humanitarian organizations will be positively valued.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Political Science, International Relations, or similar.
