Overview
The Principal Finance Officer, Head of Loan Management will lead and manage a team for the back-office administration of sovereign and non-sovereign financings and develop strategies to fulfill goals set by the Controller and CFO.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with investment-operations project teams to review and provide inputs or solutions on loan and financial product structuring and execution.
- Review and process utilization requests in line with legal agreements, policies, and procedures.
- Review and approve repayments, cancellations, repricing, and billings of loan and financial products.
- Close projects timely and appropriately.
- Monitor loan administration, including disbursement arrangements, and advise project teams of required amendments.
- Review and implement new financial products, including procedures, calculations, and reporting.
- Set up proper internal controls to mitigate operational risks.
- Monitor lapsed loans or financial products and take action accordingly.
- Escalate issues as appropriate.
- Work on the implementation of the Loan Management Information System.
- Coordinate with other multilateral development banks and commercial banks for disbursement management and operations.
- Work on the implementation and enhancement of disbursement guidelines.
- Monitor disbursement performance, including maintaining and updating the disbursement database, providing reports, or designing data-gathering processes.
- Conduct training and workshops for borrowers on loan and financial product administration.
- Support the Controller and CFO on ad hoc projects.
- Train and mentor staff and juniors on technical and strategic endeavors.
Required Experience
Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, preferably in commercial or investment banking operations. Prior experience managing a diverse team of at least seven to eight individuals with varying degrees of experience. Substantial knowledge of loan administration throughout the life cycle of loans, including syndicated lending. A strong understanding of private equity and structured products is required.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related fields. A master’s degree in these fields is desirable.
