Overview
The Case Worker will provide direct support and care for high-risk cases of people with specific needs in Borno, including case management. The role involves assessing needs, developing action plans, and linking individuals with support services.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and receive referrals for individuals and families with specific needs.
- Conduct household visits and interviews to assess needs.
- Provide information on rights, entitlements, and available services.
- Develop and implement action plans based on needs, capacities, and goals.
- Offer choices and options, involving individuals/families in decision-making.
- Provide protection case management services for legal cases, healthcare access, and community safety.
- Assess and support understanding of relevant risks.
- Link individuals and families with support groups and community resources.
- Provide psychosocial counseling and coordinate specialized services.
- Monitor, review, and follow up on provided services.
- Ensure complete and updated documentation for each case.
- Determine appropriate case closure.
- Manage, file, and store data confidentially.
- Prepare and submit weekly and monthly work plans.
- Support monitoring and evaluation tools and report implementation problems.
- Participate in reporting and planning meetings.
- Establish working relationships with stakeholders.
- Work closely with Protection Action Group members and community volunteers.
- Participate in identifying new target locations and conducting assessments.
- Receive cases referred from other agencies and provide feedback.
- Contribute to maintaining an up-to-date service mapping of providers.
Required Experience
- 2 years’ experience implementing protection programming.
- Experience in emergencies or post-conflict project management.
- Experience with group engagement and participatory processes.
- Earlier facilitation of group work with related populations.
- Energetic participant of sectoral/social teams.
- Expertise with capability constructing or coaching workout routines.
- Demonstrated experience using international human rights standards in protection programming.
- Experience in using community based and participatory approaches.
- Experience in working in remote and hard-to-reach areas with limited amenities.
Qualifications
• University degree or ND in Social Work, Law, Psychology, or a related field.
