Overview
The Project Officer (Health & Nutrition) will be responsible for the successful management and implementation of Health and Nutrition interventions in project areas, focusing on improving health and nutrition status through community-level mobilization and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee health and nutrition services through field and remote monitoring.
- Assist with program budget management, forecasting, and review.
- Prepare program work plans and detailed implementation plans.
- Ensure optimal use of project resources and compliance with internal controls.
- Assist in producing timely and quality program reports.
- Prepare documentation for procurement of program materials.
- Facilitate capacity building workshops, awareness sessions, and training.
- Participate in the design of new project proposals.
- Facilitate supply requests, distribution plans, and consumption for health and nutrition activities.
- Participate in nutritional and health assessment planning, implementation, analysis, and reporting.
- Support with program/project reports as required.
- Ensure project-related information is relayed to Project Coordinators.
- Assist Project Coordinator in maintaining program documents and coordinating with departments.
- Ensure good communication and coordination among team members.
- Liaise with implementing partners and authorities for collaboration and coordination.
- Represent health and nutrition management and coordination meetings.
- Provide technical guidance and capacity building support to operations teams and local partner staff.
- Ensure effective performance management of project staff.
- Support project staff through coaching and developmental activities.
- Manage diverse team members and contexts.
- Ensure staff provide beneficiaries with information on the Child Safeguarding Policy and Code of Conduct.
Required Experience
- At least 3-year experience in Maternal/Child health and Nutrition Program.
- Demonstrable project management experience, including budget holding responsibility in health and nutrition programming.
- Experience or willingness to work in hard-to-reach/remote areas with limited resources.
- Experience with multi-sectorial programming, or experience managing programs in several different sectors (desirable).
- Preferable implementation experience in Rakhine context (desirable).
- Experience working with community groups in humanitarian, post-conflict and recovery development context (desirable).
- Prior experience with Save The Children (desirable).
- Experience working with children and on children’s issues (desirable).
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree, and preferably university degree in health, public health and nutrition or equivalent experience.
