Overview
This role involves managing WFP programme implementation at the field level, providing technical expertise, and ensuring the timely and effective deployment of assistance. The position requires independent operation and management of junior staff to achieve programme and policy objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage WFP programme implementation at field level.
- Provide technical expertise and support to programme teams.
- Ensure coordination and technical support for resilience-building programmes.
- Review and analyze data for decision making.
- Ensure efficient use of financial resources.
- Facilitate cross-functional coordination within the Area Office.
- Establish and maintain operational partnerships.
- Support identification, development, and management of strategic partnerships.
- Support capacity improvement of WFP staff and partners.
- Guide, supervise, and develop junior programme staff.
- Perform other duties as required.
Required Experience
- Has deepened technical knowledge through exposure to technical teams.
- Has taken leadership of implementing programmes.
- Has provided input into policy discussions and decisions.
Qualifications
Advanced University degree in International Affairs, Economics, Nutrition/Health, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Social Sciences or other field relevant to international development assistance, or First University Degree with additional years of related work experience and/or trainings/courses
