Overview
The Project Officer will support the operational and technical implementation of the RE2CLID project activities in Mauritius and Seychelles, focusing on enhancing resilience and self-reliance of displacement-affected communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of RE2CLID activities in Mauritius and Seychelles, including planning, executing, and monitoring country-level interventions.
- Support stakeholder engagement at national and local levels.
- Support activities to strengthen national and local capacities on displacement management.
- Contribute to identifying opportunities and supporting efforts to integrate displacement and climate mobility into relevant frameworks and policy.
- Support coordination with RE2CLID project staff, consultants, and partners.
- Contribute to drafting and timely submission of periodic progress reports, briefings, and other documents.
- Support alignment with donor requirements and compliance with IOM's institutional project management policies and procedures.
- Participate in relevant engagements, coordination forums, and working groups.
- Undertake duty travel as required to monitor and support project implementation.
Required Experience
- Two years of relevant professional experience with a Master's degree; or four years of relevant professional experience with a University degree.
- Experience in programme implementation, monitoring, reporting and evaluation.
- Experience in the fields of disaster preparedness, disaster response, displacement management, disaster risk reduction, community stabilization, durable solutions, and climate action.
- Experience in supporting displacement management activities, including policy and operational response framework development, and capacity building strategies.
- Experience liaising with government authorities, national/international partners, UN agencies, non-governmental organizations, and local communities in multi-cultural settings.
- Familiarity with financial and business administration.
- Experience in organizing consultations, workshops and seminars with high-level stakeholders.
- Knowledge of EU-funded programming, including donor relations, strategic planning, visibility, and reporting.
- Experience in field operations in emergency, fragile, displacement-affected, conflict and/or disaster-prone contexts.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in International Relations, Political Science, Humanitarian Affairs, Economic Development, Business or Public Administration, International Studies or a related field from an accredited academic institution; or
- University degree in the above fields.
