Overview
The Project Officer will be responsible for implementing an ECHO funded project, including coordination with authorities, partners, and communities, and ensuring the smooth implementation and monitoring of resilience and community stabilization projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure effective implementation, monitoring, and reporting of the ECHO funded project on disaster preparedness.
- Implement and monitor administrative and operational activities of resilience and community stabilization projects.
- Contribute to the development of new project proposals.
- Supervise project support staff.
- Support the coordination of activities between IOM projects and relevant stakeholders.
- Draft, review, and coordinate the production of documents and reports.
- Report regularly to the Chief of Mission.
- Contribute to the management, recruitment, training, and capacity building of Sub-Office staff and implementing partners.
- Participate in meetings with Government Authorities, International Organizations, non-governmental organizations, and voluntary agencies.
- Provide technical inputs to the design and development of new projects.
- Coordinate adherence to safety and security procedures.
- Identify key gaps and operational challenges and recommend solutions.
- Contribute to establishing the visibility of IOM and the donors.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Required Experience
- Two years of relevant professional experience with a Master's degree; or four years of relevant professional experience with a University degree.
- Experience in managing humanitarian, complex and post-conflict emergencies at an international level.
- Experience in liaison with government authorities, donors, national/international institutions and multi-stakeholders.
- Experience in project development and reporting.
- Experience in programme implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
- Experience working in the Region.
Qualifications
• Master’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, Humanitarian Affairs, Law, International Relations, Preparedness, Disaster Risk Reduction/Disaster Risk Management, or a related field from an accredited academic institution; or University degree in the above fields.
