Overview

Support the design and implementation of communication strategies and activities to enhance individual giving and private sector fundraising. The role focuses on creating awareness, engagement, and amplification of messages to key target audiences.


Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and deliver communications outputs for individual giving and private sector fundraising.
  • Lead the development of donor-focused storytelling and impact content.
  • Serve as the DMC focal point for individual giving communications.
  • Work closely with individual giving campaign project teams and integrate into workstreams.
  • Produce and adapt high-quality communication products, including fundraising campaign materials.
  • Ensure outputs align with IOM’s brand, style, tone, and editorial standards.
  • Manage communications approval processes.
  • Contribute to content and engagement strategies for individual donors and private sector audiences.
  • Collaborate with paid media and creative specialists on creative approaches.
  • Monitor awareness and engagement metrics.
Required Experience
  • Master’s degree with five years of relevant professional experience; or University degree with seven years of relevant professional experience.
  • Proven experience in individual giving fundraising or business to consumer marketing, particularly in international or non-profit organizations.
  • Experience in content creation, including writing and editing for digital media, website content, and social media platforms.
  • Track record of delivering continuous high volume, high quality, audience focused content.
  • Track record of using available audience insights and behaviour to inform content planning and development.
  • Proven experience in strategic communications and donor engagement strategies.
  • Experience working with private sector stakeholders, businesses, or philanthropies in supporting humanitarian or development initiatives is an advantage.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field; or University degree in the above fields.
  • Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

Languages Required
• Fluency in English is required (oral and written).
Languages Preferred
• Working knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish) is an advantage.
