Overview
This internship provides hands-on experience in case management, assisting refugee clients with essential services to support their journey towards self-sufficiency in the U.S.
Key Responsibilities
- Shadowing caseworkers and learning to deliver core services
- Assisting clients with benefits applications, orientations, job searches, and transportation
- Delivering food and in-kind donations
- Assisting with personal finance and bill payment
- Navigating medical insurance and home visits
- Facilitating client relocations and community referrals
- Supporting data compliance, including case filing, noting, data entry, and tracking
- Participating in weekly casework team meetings
Required Experience
• Experience working with refugees/diverse populations
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a graduate/undergraduate program, or graduated less than 6 months ago
- Background in social work OR other related fields
- Strong computer skill with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and work as a team member in a cross-cultural environment
