Overview
Responsible for all matters pertaining to NATO’s Social Securities and Insurances for NATO and NATO-wide Agencies, retirees and other NATO entities. The role includes strategic planning and oversight to strengthen efficiency, sustainability, and alignment of these functions with institutional objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead social security and insurances related projects, including benchmarking.
- Develop, promote and articulate a forward-looking vision for programmes related to health insurance, life insurance, disability coverage and wellbeing initiatives.
- Manage contracts for the NATO-wide Social Security Scheme.
- Verify and calculate NATO-wide yearly social contributions and insurance premiums, and monitor operations.
- Provide expert advice to leadership, management and staff.
- Lead the negotiation on insurance policy renewals.
- Make proposals to management to enhance the viability of the Group Insurance contract.
- Create a motivating and effective workplace, providing mentoring, coaching and training.
- Ensure staff are clear on Organizational and NHR objectives and projects.
- Supervise the teams of Insurances and the Medical Unit.
- Draft memoranda and office notices.
- Manage and contribute to the update of relevant reference guides, procedures and assessments.
- Provide relevant financial inputs for audits, expenses and incomes studies, asset and liability analyses, accounting and financial statements.
- Assist the Head, HR Services in the preparation of yearly reports.
- Oversee the flow of information and the database for staff members on insurance related matters.
- Perform any other related duty as assigned.
Required Experience
- At least 7 years' relevant experience in progressively responsible positions managing social security schemes and employee benefits’ insurances, including in-depth expertise in the design, funding, administration and governance of such schemes/insurances.
- Experience in supporting the development, implementation and oversight of HR policies and change programmes.
- Experience managing or leading teams.
Qualifications
• Possess a university degree or equivalent level of qualification in human resources, business administration, finance, economics, statistics or a related field.
