Overview
The incumbent provides tailored analysis to assist in the assessment process using data drawn independently and from a variety of sources. The role supports the Operations Directorate by providing scientific advice and problem-solving capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Works with Section Head to determine how best OA can support the work of the Section and Branch.
- Provides scientific advice and an objective, scientifically based problem solving capability.
- Conducts analytical studies to support decision-making.
- Assists in developing metrics and the means through which these metrics can support the Assessment process.
- Supports the wider Operational Planning Process through the provision of OA support.
- Leads in training OA personnel.
- Undertakes work as part of a project team or working group.
Required Experience
- University Degree and 4 years post related experience, or Higher Secondary education and completed advanced vocational training leading to a professional qualification or professional accreditation with 5 years post related and 2 years function related experience.
- Professional experience in the field of fiscal control and accounting operations.
- Experience of military modelling, simulation and war gaming together with expertise on computer systems and related applications.
- Knowledge of joint and/or combined operations at both operational and tactical levels.
- Ability to apply standard Operational Research techniques to include statistical analysis, mathematical modelling, project management, simulation, linear programming and other analytical techniques.
Qualifications
University Degree or Higher Secondary education and completed advanced vocational training leading to a professional qualification or professional accreditation.
