Overview
This role involves conducting analytical work on the Asia-Pacific region and keeping abreast of macroeconomic and financial developments. The position is suitable for an early career economist interested in policy work and the IMF's operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Working on regional research projects or analytical pieces as part of the IMF’s surveillance of the region.
- Keeping abreast with the most recent macroeconomic and financial developments in the region.
- Allocating some amount of time to OAP’s other operational work.
Qualifications
- High-caliber graduate training in economics or finance, ideally at the PhD level.
- Advanced knowledge of econometrics, related software packages and standard economic databases.
- Accuracy and attention to details.
- Ability to work in a team as well as independently and to multi-task under pressure.
- Versatility and openness to learn new skills are a must.
