Key Responsibilities
  • Working on regional research projects or analytical pieces as part of the IMF’s surveillance of the region.
  • Keeping abreast with the most recent macroeconomic and financial developments in the region.
  • Allocating some amount of time to OAP’s other operational work.
Qualifications
  • High-caliber graduate training in economics or finance, ideally at the PhD level.
  • Advanced knowledge of econometrics, related software packages and standard economic databases.
  • Accuracy and attention to details.
  • Ability to work in a team as well as independently and to multi-task under pressure.
  • Versatility and openness to learn new skills are a must.
Other Details
Languages Required
• Proficiency in English, with effective verbal and written communication skills.
Languages Preferred
• A good command of Japanese is desirable but not required.
Contract Duration
After successful completion of an initial period of one year, a fixed-term contract of two years may be offered.
