Overview
This role is part of the Young Professionals Programme (YPP) focusing on Artificial Intelligence and Operations Research Analysis. The programme aims to develop young professionals within NATO through assignments across different NATO bodies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct operational analysis/operations research activities for current/future operations and capability development programmes.
- Work on data science projects to improve decision-making in multi-domain military operations.
- Develop, implement, and promote data science and AI technologies for NATO policy development and digital transformation.
- Design, prototype, and validate statistical and machine learning models for complex operational problems.
- Work on data fusion and analysis for decision-making in complex programmes.
- Research and employ research and analysis techniques such as modelling, simulation, war gaming, and Analyses of Alternatives.
- Support the development of joint analysis of operations, training, exercises, and experiments.
- Conduct information flow analysis within NATO Command and Force Structure elements.
- Perform analyses to support NATO’s Defence Planning Process.
- Develop and implement data-mining and data-warehousing programs.
- Program custom data-analysis and mining programs for NATO data.
- Research new trends in data science and Operations Research.
Required Experience
At least one year of professional experience.
Qualifications
- A Master’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or in a scientific discipline including at least one statistics-based module.
- Any other degree that can be useful to the area of Data Science, Artificial Intelligence & Operations Research and Analysis.
