Overview
Provide logistics support for the planning, execution, and control of procured supplies and movement, including warehousing, transportation, and distribution, to achieve project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for tracking and tracing all procured goods POs locally or internationally.
- Responsible for stock management and control of all FAO procured supplies in specialized storage conditions.
- Manage logistics operations for the reception, issuing and distribution of Agricultural inputs and assets.
- Coordinating with Logistics teams at the field offices to update continuously the supply movement.
- Maintain familiarity with relevant logistics legal compliance issues.
- Prepare administrative documentation following clearing agent’s SOP.
- Track and manage shipments though good and clear communications.
- Responsible for developing managing transportation and dispatch plans.
- Ensure a pro-active link and understanding the organization transportation services needs.
- Ensure appropriate filing of all relevant documents.
- Ensure that all records including inventory lists, stock cards of FAO items and equipment are updated.
- Responsible and ensures periodic inventory reports is prepared.
- Work closely with other units to ensure comprehensive planning and providing support.
- Take the lead on the review and updating the standard operation procedures (SOP).
- Take on other ad hoc logistic and supply chain tasks as assigned.
Required Experience
• 5 years’ field experience of working in Logistics and Supply Chain Management and transport management settings.
Qualifications
• University Degree from an institution recognized by the International Association of Universities (IAU)/UNESCO in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Management, Transport Management, International Development or areas directly related to logistics operations in FAO or other UN agencies programme implementations.
