Overview
The Programme Associate supports the design, planning and management of UNFPA’s country programme by managing data inputs, providing logistical support, monitoring project implementation and following up on recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
- Participating in the formulation of the country programme and component projects.
- Supporting the monitoring and evaluation of project and programme activities.
- Supporting and follow up on routine implementation of assigned projects.
- Supporting localisation by strengthening engagement with relevant stakeholders.
- Assisting in maintaining day-to-day coordination with implementing partners.
- Contribute to capacity strengthening of partners.
- Support working engagements with local authorities, CSOs and other relevant stakeholders.
- Providing logistical support to projects.
- Training and guiding project personnel and staff on national execution and programme policies and procedures.
- Supporting advocacy and resource mobilisation efforts of the CO.
- Assisting with organizing and conducting donor meetings and public information events.
- Regularly monitoring budgets and financial expenditures of the section.
- Provide supply/logistic support for the field office.
- Support in the preparation of reports on emergency preparedness and response actions.
- Act as liaison between the Field Offices and the central office.
- Assisting in implementing knowledge management strategies.
Required Experience
Minimum of 6 years’ of relevant experience particularly in providing general support on information management, research, basic financial and program monitoring; and administration, previous experience in the UN is an advantage; Knowledge of program and project management processes, especially experience in project management
Qualifications
Completed Secondary Level Education required. First level university degree is desirable.
