Overview

The Programme Associate supports the planning and management of UNFPA’s country programme by managing data inputs, providing logistical support, monitoring project implementation and following up on recommendations. The role facilitates UNFPA’s country programme and GBV programme implementation, supporting planning and management in GBV prevention and response.


Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitates contacts and promotes information sharing/exchange between IPs and Programme staff on GBV intervention implementation.
  • Reviews and processes advance requests by IPs and ensures expenditure aligns with UNFPA policies.
  • Follows up on payment processes with the Finance Unit.
  • Ensures proper management of programme and office filing and archiving systems.
  • Supports the evaluation of programme activities and recommends corrective action.
  • Conducts field visits, participates in review meetings and evaluation missions.
  • Guides routine implementation of assigned activities and coordinates delivery of project inputs.
  • Provides logistical support to projects by coordinating meetings, workshops and events.
  • Trains and guides project personnel and staff on national execution and programme policies.
  • Supports advocacy and resource mobilisation efforts by assisting with donor meetings and public information events.
  • Assists in implementing knowledge management strategies to capture lessons learned and best practices.
  • Gathers and compiles data and information for document preparation.
  • Assembles briefing materials and prepares presentations.
  • Handles secretarial and administrative work, including requisitions, minor procurement, and logistic support for events.
Required Experience

Minimum of 6 years’ of relevant experience particularly in providing general support on information management, research, basic financial and program monitoring; and administration. Previous experience in the UN is an advantage. Knowledge of program and project management processes, especially experience in GBV projects management.

Qualifications

High School Diploma is required.
