Overview
The Programme Analyst/Field Coordinator will analyze and assess humanitarian and development needs and trends, guiding the delivery of UNFPA's programmes, particularly at local and community levels. The role supports effective management of UNFPA activities in sexual and reproductive health, gender-based violence, adolescent and youth programming, and population and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design and implementation of the country programme and its component projects in collaboration with counterparts, NGOs, communities, and partners.
- Ensure appropriate monitoring and oversight mechanisms and systems are established and implemented.
- Analyze and interpret the humanitarian, development, political, social, and economic environment relevant to UNFPA activities.
- Review policy papers, strategy documents, and national humanitarian and development plans; prepare briefs and inputs for policy dialogue.
- Assess the implications of new policy developments and strategies on programme execution.
- Establish collaborative relationships with executing agencies, experts, government counterparts, and other UN agencies.
- Assist in implementing knowledge management strategies to capture lessons learned and best practices.
- Support the advocacy and resource mobilization strategy of the CO by preparing relevant documentation and participating in meetings.
Required Experience
- Two years professional experience in the field of development and population activities, with experience in programme/ project management is required.
- Practical experience in design, monitoring and evaluation of development projects.
- Experience using office software packages and web-based management systems.
Qualifications
Advanced degree in health, population, demography and/or other related social science discipline is required.
