Overview
The Resource Mobilisation & Partnership Analyst contributes to the design, analysis, and implementation of resource mobilization and partnership strategies within the UNFPA Country Office in Afghanistan. The role provides analytical and coordination support to strengthen funding opportunities, support donor engagement, and contribute to the preparation of proposals and reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and strengthening of partnerships through substantive inputs to engagement strategies and follow-up actions.
- Prepare analytical briefs, background notes, and strategic inputs to support senior management engagement with partners.
- Contribute to the analysis of the partnership landscape, including identification of strategic opportunities aligned with programme priorities.
- Maintain and analyse partnership data to inform decision making and prioritisation.
- Analyse funding opportunities and provide recommendations on positioning and engagement.
- Draft and contribute substantively to concept notes, proposals, and funding submissions, ensuring alignment with programme priorities and donor requirements.
- Support the integration of results-based narratives and evidence into proposals.
- Support with identifying and monitoring funding opportunities and maintaining internal records of funding pipelines.
- Contribute to the development of resource mobilization strategies and approaches, based on analysis of donor priorities and funding trends.
- Analyse political, social, and funding trends relevant to partnership and resource mobilization, and identify implications for programme positioning and engagement strategies.
- Contribute to the analysis and consolidation of donor reports, ensuring quality, coherence, and alignment with agreed results frameworks.
- Provide substantive inputs to reporting, including synthesis of programme results, challenges, and lessons learned.
- Support quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with donor requirements and standards.
- Support preparation of communication materials highlighting programme activities and results.
- Contribute to the development of communication and visibility approaches to support partnership engagement and resource mobilization.
- Draft and curate results-based communication products, including briefs and stories, highlighting programme impact.
- Contribute to internal knowledge products, including analytical updates on funding trends, partner engagement, and pipeline status.
- Support coordination between programme teams and partnership engagement efforts to ensure coherence between programme priorities and resource mobilization efforts.
- Analyse partnership and funding data to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor or designated authority.
Required Experience
- At least two years of relevant professional experience in partnerships, programme analysis, communications, resource mobilization, or related areas are required.
- Experience supporting proposal preparation or donor reporting is desirable.
- Experience working in complex operational environments is an asset.
- Particular advantage if there is previous experience working in Afghanistan.
- Previous experience with international organizations or multilateral agencies is an advantage.
- Particular experience from working with UNFPA is a distinct advantage.
Qualifications
• Advanced university degree in international relations, public administration, economics, communications, business administration, or other related fields, is required.
