Overview
The Programme Officer - NOA contributes to the delivery and administration of programming activities for the ILO Office for Japan, applying principles of results-based management. The incumbent liaises with the ILO Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide inputs for developing country operations plans, conduct research and analysis, and draft components of reports and presentations.
- Provide accurate and timely information on programme and budget matters.
- Measure, analyse and report on performance using baselines and indicators.
- Work collaboratively with external partners to assess and respond to their needs.
- Monitor and report on the implementation of ILO projects and propose corrective action.
- Ensure headquarters is kept informed on the political and socio-economic situation.
- Brief ILO specialists, experts and visiting officials.
- Provide inputs to support the Office’s outreach and advocacy efforts.
- Disseminate information on programmes through various channels.
- Participate in resource mobilization activities.
- Review and analyse country specific development plans and priorities.
- Monitor progress of ILO programmes, projects and activities.
- Follow-up with relevant departments to expedite implementation.
- Provide programming and administrative support to programmes and projects.
- Prepare briefs, periodical reports and statistical data.
- Assemble and edit basic data for planning and negotiation of programme/project activities.
- Follow-up on delayed documents and clarify information.
- Participate in the organization of conferences, seminars, workshops, training sessions and meetings.
- Draft in, or translate into, local language(s) news releases, official correspondence, statements and speeches and other public information material.
Required Experience
At least one year of professional experience at the national level, in the occupational area.
Qualifications
First level university degree in business administration, economics, political science, public administration or other relevant field.
