Overview

Provide legal advice, recommendations, and services related to the legal status, constitution, functions, rules, and activities of the Organization, particularly concerning human resources legal issues.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal advice on privileges and immunities issues.
  • Draft submissions in administrative and tribunal proceedings.
  • Review Investigation Reports and assess if a disciplinary process is warranted.
  • Draft legal advice on matters involving international administrative law.
  • Attend internal and external meetings and conferences.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
Required Experience

At least five years of relevant professional experience is required for candidates holding a Master's degree (seven years for candidates holding a University/Bachelor's degree), including at least four years in international administrative law, with demonstrated experience in staff misconduct cases and drafting internal justice system and ILOAT pleadings.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Law from an accredited academic institution; or University degree in Law with seven years of relevant professional experience.

Fluency in English is required (oral and written).
Languages Preferred
Working knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is an advantage.
Contract Duration
