Overview

The MPTF Project Coordinator will oversee the implementation of project activities under FAO's responsibility, ensuring the execution of the Project Document, workplans, and budget. The role involves coordinating actions with partner entities and providing technical leadership for tasks related to the cocoa value chain.


Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the timely and quality implementation of project components and activities.
  • Develop and review Terms of Reference (TORs) for affiliate workforce and Service Providers.
  • Coordinate the preparation and adjustment of annual workplans, budget revisions, procurement, and recruiting plans.
  • Support the implementation of activities by project personnel.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders to agree on implementation arrangements.
  • Organize and lead project meetings, workshops, and technical activities.
  • Prepare, carry out, and/or facilitate project field missions and training sessions.
  • Ensure interventions are well coordinated with UNIDO and UN Women activities.
  • Monitor project implementation and assist with the preparation of progress reports.
  • Support the preparation of the project terminal report.
Required Experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of responsible professional experience in the management of field projects in Brazil related to: agroforestry systems, bioeconomy, territorial development, family farming and or other similar areas.
  • Geographical knowledge of the State of Rondônia and previous field experience within the state.
  • Experience with the promotion of bioeconomy value chains and/or previous working experience with the cocoa value chain in Brazil.
  • Proven knowledge or experience in the implementation of good cocoa production practices.
Qualifications

• Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Agrarian Sciences, Forest Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Biology, Geography, Social Sciences or other similar areas.
