Overview

Leads the implementation and coordination of protection programmes in North Darfur, Sudan, focusing on the Protection from Violence (PfV) portfolio. Responsible for ensuring effective project cycle management, high-quality programme delivery, and capacity building of project staff.


Key Responsibilities
  • Leads the implementation and coordination of protection programmes.
  • Manages staff, budgets, and activities.
  • Oversees protection monitoring, case management, and referrals.
  • Ensures assistance targets the most vulnerable populations.
  • Contributes to programme design and needs assessments.
  • Strengthens staff and partner capacity.
  • Coordinates with stakeholders.
  • Ensures effective reporting, advocacy, and compliance.
  • Develops, coordinates and manages Protection Core Competency (CC) projects.
  • Documents protection risks and develops advocacy messaging.
  • Oversees protection monitoring, case management, referral mechanism.
  • Responsible for Protection specific input and participation in needs assessments, planning and implementation of responses to new emergencies.
  • Responsible for Protection specific contextual analysis and leadership in programme design and delivery.
  • Establishes working relations with donors, international and national organizations, local authorities, clusters/sectors, CBOs and communities.
  • Works on NRC’s Local partners capacity building and maintains follow up on their activities.
  • Participates in all Protection coordination forums.
  • Prepares all Project operational documents (HR Plans, Procurement plans, Work plans, Spending Plans, etc.).
  • Maintains close coordination and reporting with the Country office and Area Office M&E Team.
Required Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in overseeing project implementation in a humanitarian/violent context.
  • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts, including protracted displacement.
  • Ability to manage teams in multiple office locations.
  • Ability to analyze and integrate quantitative and qualitative data and information from different sources.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of international standards, and protection fundamental concepts and guiding principles.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Protection.
  • Knowledge of the context in Sudan.
Other Details
Languages Required
Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
Languages Preferred
Speaking Arabic is a plus.
