Overview
The Protection Officer will be responsible for assessing referred cases, disbursing assistance, conducting referrals, and coordinating services for individuals and families experiencing humanitarian crises.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and receive referrals regarding individuals and families who have experienced sudden financial shock.
- Conduct household visits and interviews to assess needs and eligibility for emergency assistance.
- Provide information about entitlements and support access through referrals.
- Deliver psychosocial support activities.
- Support beneficiary families through comprehensive case management, including developing action plans.
- Assess risk and support individuals and families to understand risks.
- Link individuals and families with support networks and other service providers.
- Coordinate provision of services by other service providers.
- Ensure monitoring, review, and follow-up of cases, including documentation.
- Determine when to close cases.
- Manage, file, and store data, ensuring confidentiality.
- Provide updates about work planning.
- Support the implementation of M&E tools and report on program implementation problems.
- Participate in reporting and planning meetings.
- Contribute to maintaining an up-to-date service mapping of service providers.
- Receive cases referred from other agencies.
- Provide feedback about actions taken to other agencies.
- Lobby on behalf of individuals and families to access services.
