Overview
The Senior Driver is responsible for driving Country Office Staff of FAO Representations/Regional Offices and visitors, and providing other transportation related and messenger services.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive for the Head of Office and his/her visitors, including high-ranking officials.
- Meet official personnel and visitors at the airport and facilitate formalities.
- Ensure local transportation needs are met and vehicle safety and soundness.
- Log official trips, mileage, gas consumption, expenditures, servicing, and repairs.
- Assist administrative staff in monitoring log books and maintenance records.
- Perform day-to-day maintenance of assigned vehicle(s) and arrange for repairs.
- Handle local and organizational formalities in case of an accident.
- Collect and deliver mail, documents, pouches, and other items.
- Assist the Country Office in performing simple clerical duties.
- Brief and train the junior driver.
- Support corporate initiatives to reduce emissions, increase efficiency, and integrate sustainability.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Required Experience
- Four years of work experience as a driver.
- Flawless, safe driving record.
- Work experience as a driver of a Head of Office of a UN agency, INGO, an Embassy or a diplomatic mission is considered an asset.
Qualifications
- Secondary school education.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
