Overview

To handle receipt/dispatch and verification of commodities to maximize warehouse operations quality and mitigate losses, and to support storage management practices. Supports retail warehouse operation through regular monitoring visits.


Key Responsibilities
  • Effectively receive/dispatch commodities including transhipment against approved documentation, ensuring accuracy in physical count and quality.
  • Prepare, verify and sign off warehouse and transport documents, and maintain confidential files and accurate warehouse transaction records.
  • Conduct daily warehouse closing reconciliation and accurate inventory checks.
  • Perform daily inspections and prepare reports on commodity quantity and quality, detect stock discrepancies/damages, investigate missing quantity and prepare warehouse loss reports.
  • Implement measures to safeguard food and non-food commodities, ensuring quality control.
  • Keep warehouse commodity movement updated records on stock register/stack cards, and in WFP Corporate Systems LESS.
  • Assist in conducting monthly/quarterly physical inventories.
  • Monitor warehouse and commodity conditions and take appropriate actions for efficient space-planning and storage.
  • Provide guidance and on-the-job training to warehouse staff.
  • Ensure good warehousing practices including cleanliness and pest-free storing conditions.
  • Report on and take appropriate action for the disposal of spoilt commodities.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support logistics and retail operations.
  • Prepare daily warehouse stocks movement reports.
  • Visit and monitor retail partner warehouses to monitor food quality and assist with warehouse management.
  • Any other tasks as assigned.
Required Experience

At least 4 years of progressively responsible experience in the relevant field including at least two years in the field of commodity handling /warehousing.

Qualifications

Completion of Bachelor's degree is required. Education in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, Social Science or any other relevant field is preferable.
