Overview
The Communications Associate supports the implementation of communications strategies, monitors news and trends, and develops content to lead the narrative on forced displacement and show UNHCR's impact.
Key Responsibilities
- - Support the implementation of communications strategies.
- - Monitor news and popular trends to insert UNHCR's messaging.
- - Forge strategic partnerships with individuals and organizations.
- - Support the development of news-driven and authoritative content.
- - Help ensure content created reaches maximum impact.
- - Monitor the implementation of communications projects.
- - Assist in research, preparation, editing and production of media and communications materials.
- - Continually maintain and upgrade communications skills.
- - May be required to assist in implementation of campaigns, events and other initiatives.
- - May be required to undertake missions and field trips.
- - Support the identification and management of risks.
- - Perform other related duties as required.
Required Experience
3 years relevant experience with High School Diploma; or 2 years relevant work experience with Bachelor or equivalent or higher. Experience implementing communications strategies. Professional writing and editing skills. Experience working on advocacy campaigns. Working experience with UN/UNHCR or other international organizations, and/or previous experience on refugee or migrations issues is an added advantage.
Qualifications
Journalism, Social Sciences, Humanities or related fields.
