Overview
The incumbent will act as a Field Protection Coordinator overseeing and guiding activities in the area of migrant assistance. He/she will coordinate the work of protection assistants and case workers, ensuring effective delivery of protection interventions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, coordinating, implementing, and monitoring operations of the Field Protection Team.
- Supervise, provide guidance and training, coordinate, and monitor the work of field protection assistants and protection case workers.
- Draft correspondence on project-related issues; compile, summarize, analyze, and present information and data; prepare and update reports.
- Monitor budget implementation for field protection activities and propose adjustments.
- Serve as the focal point for administrative coordination of project implementation.
- Organize meetings, workshops, and training sessions; prepare training materials and participate in capacity-building workshops.
- Participate in meetings and conferences; maintain liaison, cooperation, and coordination with local authorities, partners, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor the work of implementing partners and service providers and report non-compliance.
- Provide inputs for the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and concept papers.
- Regularly update the referral system in response to changes in law and the local context.
- Identify new opportunities and areas of cooperation with social services and other relevant stakeholders.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Experience
- High school diploma with six years of relevant experience; or, Bachelor’s degree with four years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience in administrative work, collaborating with finance and procurement departments.
- Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups.
- Experience in collaborating with international organizations, non-governmental organization and/or governmental institutions such social care services and law enforcement.
- Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations.
- Experience in supervising a team of minimum 3 persons.
- Experience of working in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution
