Overview
Support the development and implementation of projects focused on disaster risk reduction and climate resilience, contributing to knowledge management and socially inclusive programming.
Key Responsibilities
- Support in the development of RFPs and RFQs.
- Support cities in developing activities finalized under the Mayor’s challenge.
- Assist in evaluating bids received under the projects.
- Provide technical inputs for activities like rapid visual screening of schools and hospitals, structural safety audit and training.
- Support the M&E expert in timely reporting.
- Prepare supporting documents for SESP, ESMP, and ESIA.
- Draft reports, policy briefs, and case studies.
- Support the development of visually engaging knowledge products and presentations.
- Assist in documenting innovative approaches and best practices.
- Support the integration of social inclusion considerations.
- Develop inclusion-sensitive indicators and support data disaggregation.
- Contribute to the preparation of social inclusion assessments and strategies.
- Support the team in literature reviews, compiling data, and synthesizing best practices.
- Support in the integration of upcoming technologies in the programme.
- Assist in planning and conducting field visits to project sites.
- Contribute to field visit reports with recommendations.
- Assist in data collection and validation processes.
- Support organization of team meetings, workshops, and reviews.
- Contribute to planning and logistics for field missions.
- Facilitate information flow and coordination between field teams, UNDP team members and government counterparts.
Required Experience
- Two years of experience in the area of building design or structural safety, disaster risk reduction projects or in related areas;
- Ability to aggregate and synthesize research literature and extract key messages and arguments;
- Strong analytical and report-writing skills;
- Excellent coordination and network skills;
- Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive;
- Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment;
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel;
- Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision;
- Ability to work with tight deadlines;
- Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, among others), email, and internet;
- Familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Disaster risk reduction, climate resilience, structural engineering, architecture or any other related field
