Overview

The Analyst (Modelling & Simulation) develops models and simulations to support operational planning, execution, and assessment of joint all-domain operations within a joint HQ.


Key Responsibilities
  • - Develops or acquires models and simulations for analytical studies.
  • - Determines how modelling and simulation can support the Joint Assessment Division.
  • - Develops and executes computer models to simulate real-world processes.
  • - Analyses and interprets simulation data.
  • - Prepares reports and presentations on findings.
  • - Works with operational analysis, wargaming, and data science teams.
  • - Prepares written, non-technical reports and briefings.
  • - Enables identification of JFCNP requirements for NATO’s Next Generation Modelling and Simulation capability.
  • - Develops and maintains a network of modelling and simulation professionals.
  • - Implements and maintains best practice for management of models and simulations.
  • - Participates in NATO Science and Technology Research groups.
  • - Participates in lessons learned process.
  • - Undertakes work as part of a project team or working group.
Required Experience
  • - Proven professional experience conducting operational analysis/operational research.
  • - Proven professional experience developing or applying models and simulations.
  • - Proven professional experience using systems modelling languages (e.g., SysML).
  • - Proven professional experience using simulation software (e.g., Simio, Simul8, FlexSim, AnyLogic, VenSim, STORM, JTLS).
  • - Proven professional experience using programming tools (e.g., Matlab, C++, Python).
Qualifications

- University Degree in operations research, military operations research, mathematics, statistics or related numerate discipline, computer science, business administration, engineering, economics, public administration, business process engineering or related discipline and 2 years function related experience, OR Higher Secondary education and completed advanced vocational training in that discipline leading to a professional qualification or professional accreditation with 4 years post related experience.
