Overview
The People & Culture (P&C) Business Partner plays a crucial role in the execution of Human Resource activities for WFP projects and others in Gambella region or other locations. This role works collaboratively to deliver integrated HR solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and drive staff recruitment processes, including JD development, job advertisement, short-listing candidates, scheduling written tests and interviews, and follow-up on reference checks.
- Support new staff through the onboarding process, ensuring they are fully oriented on WVE policies and technical aspects of their job and expectations.
- Assist managers to identify, recommend and approve learning and development opportunities for Project staff.
- Ensure all positions holder reporting line carry out & update with any change.
- Timely review the medical & approve.
- Follow up on the system the clearance process.
- Ensure & collaborate with managers for the mandatory trainings.
- Proactively respond to and manage performance, counselling, staff grievance and disciplinary issues as required.
- Support managers and staff in the routine performance management process.
- Act as an impartial mediator in disciplinary procedures and ensure they are administered in an equitable and fair manner.
- Lead people well-being initiatives.
- Plan and support team building exercises.
- Coordinate staff social events.
- Organize staff recognition platforms or events.
- Help to foster a professional and collaborative culture of sharing ideas and interactions across departments, sectors and teams within the organization.
Required Experience
- 4-6 years of experience in Human Resources (HR) Business Partnering or related specialist role.
- INGO experience working in field operations and hardship locations.
- Strong consultation skills and experience influencing and interacting with senior leaders.
- Outstanding people and client relationship skills.
- Proficient in coaching, mediating, influencing, facilitation, presentation, communication, analysis, and problem solving.
- Thorough knowledge of human resource management practices and employment related legislation.
- Demonstrated HR experience in a multi-business & multi-cultural unit environment.
Qualifications
- BA in Management, Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field.
- Preferred: MBA, MPM or MPA in Public Administration.
- Professional membership of relevant HR body.
- Experience in Workday or similar human resources information system.
- HEAT (hostile environment awareness training) and SRMT (security risk management training) or a UN equivalent.
- Enterprise Risk Management Training.
- Certification in trauma counselling or certain basic training in this area.
- Adult Safeguarding Training.
- Understanding/Training in local labor law.
